ARA: The first 'Indian Psychology Day' was celebrated at Veer Kunwar Singh University (VKSU) and various prominent colleges in the city on the auspicious occasion of Guru Purnima. Academic seminars were organized to mark this historic day, focusing on topics such as the Indian knowledge system, stress management, the Guru-Shishya tradition, and holistic personality development.

The Postgraduate Psychology Department of VKSU hosted a two-day seminar and speech competition on the theme 'Role of Indian Psychology in Human Upliftment'. Professor Yashwant Kumar, Head of the Department, presided over the event, while Dr. Pritika advised students to incorporate the philosophy of Karma Yoga from the Gita into their lives. Postgraduate and PhD students actively participated in the program.

Similarly, the Psychology Department of M.M. Mahila Mahavidyalaya also organized a special seminar for the 'Indian Psychology Day'. It was jointly inaugurated by Chief Guest Professor Yashwant Kumar, Principal Professor Narendra Pratap Palit, and Head of Department Dr. Vijayashree. Principal Professor Palit highlighted the relevance of the Indian knowledge tradition in contemporary society. Dr. Vijayashree informed that this day is being observed for the first time as a joint initiative of the National Academy of Psychology and NIMHANS, Bengaluru, aiming to recognize the contributions of Indian psychologists. Professor Yashwant Kumar, as the keynote speaker, addressed the students, stating that Indian psychology is the science of self-realization, purification of the mind, and a journey from external to internal consciousness, strengthening mental health through yoga, meditation, chakra concepts, and the Bhagavad Gita. Students like Khushi Kumari, Manisha Kumari, Vicky Kumari, and Nidhi Srivastava also shared their views and were honored with certificates for their excellent presentations.

Maharaja Bahadur Ram Ran Vijay Prasad Singh College (MBRRVPS) also held a seminar on 'Guru Purnima – Indian Psychology Day' under the chairmanship of Principal Professor Kanak Lata. Professors Om Prakash Keshari and Sanjay Kumar emphasized its integral role in Indian cultural heritage and its necessity for current research and innovation. Chief Guest Professor (Dr.) Ram Chandra Singh elaborated on the global relevance of Indian psychology.
