Four youths fell ill after consuming intoxicants in Bedhna village, under the Barh sub-division of Patna district, on Sunday. They were immediately admitted to Barh Sub-Divisional Hospital in an unconscious state. Due to their critical condition, they were referred to PMCH (Patna Medical College Hospital) in Patna after receiving initial treatment.

The ill individuals have been identified as Pankaj Kumar, Nishu Kumar, Vikas Kumar, and Shashi Kumar. Dr. Shreya Shekhar, a general medical officer at Barh Sub-Divisional Hospital, stated that the exact cause of their deteriorating health is yet to be determined. However, according to villagers, the four were consuming intoxicants together. Upon arrival at the hospital, all of them were foaming at the mouth, indicating the consumption of some toxic substance. It is reported that three of the four are still in serious condition.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local police initiated an investigation. The actual cause of the illness due to intoxicant consumption will only be revealed after the investigation report and detailed medical examination. Police are trying to ascertain what type of intoxicant they consumed and its source. This incident has raised concerns about the growing menace of intoxicants in the region.
