Gaya: Gaya District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar has taken significant action against Shri Ram Kumar Raman, the Revenue Officer of Nagar Anchal. A charge sheet has been filed against him and sent to the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, citing serious negligence in revenue work, indifference in disposing of pending cases, and various administrative irregularities.

The District Magistrate stated that the Revenue Officer consistently showed negligence in performing duties related to revenue administration. During a review, it was found that a large number of mutation (Dakhil-Kharij) cases were unnecessarily pending in his login. A total of 213 applications related to public information and 388 applications pending for over 120 days were not processed on time, causing undue inconvenience to common citizens.

Investigations also revealed that erroneous orders were passed in several mutation cases. An inquiry conducted by the Sub-Divisional Officer, Sadar, confirmed that many land-related matters were unnecessarily kept pending at the Revenue Officer's level, and investigations were not carried out according to the facts. The inquiry report highlighted several serious administrative irregularities.

Furthermore, the investigation brought to light instances of manipulation in online demands at the Revenue Officer's level. It was also found that in some cases, despite the cancellation of Jamabandi (land record), the demand was maintained, indicating a serious irregularity in the maintenance of revenue records. The District Magistrate has recommended strict action in this matter.
