Chakand police in the Belaganj police station area of Gaya district have arrested one person on charges of land grabbing, theft, and extortion in Rasalpur village. The arrested accused has been identified as Nagendra Singh, son of late Ramcharitra Singh, a resident of Rasalpur.

Chakand Station House Officer Shivam Kumar stated that on July 22, 2026, a victim had filed a written complaint at the Chakand police station. According to the complaint, the victim had locked their house and gone out. During this time, the accused Nagendra Singh, along with his associates, allegedly attempted to illegally occupy the victim's land. The victim also accused them of stealing some household items during the incident. When the victim protested, the accused allegedly demanded an extortion sum of 10 lakh rupees and threatened to kill them if the amount was not paid.

Based on the complaint, Chakand police registered case number 165/26 on July 22, 2026, and initiated a thorough investigation. As part of a special raid operation to apprehend wanted and absconding accused, Nagendra Singh was arrested and presented before the court. Police further informed that raids are ongoing to arrest other accused involved in the case.
