JEHANABAD: Life in Ghosi Nagar Panchayat has been severely disrupted due to an ongoing strike by sanitation workers. The workers, who have not received their salaries for the past two months, have ceased work, leading to massive accumulations of garbage in the main market, along roadsides, in residential areas, and at public places. This situation is causing significant inconvenience to local residents, shopkeepers, and commuters.

The cessation of sanitation services has resulted in widespread filth and foul odors throughout the Nagar Panchayat area, polluting the environment. Sanitation workers state that the non-payment of wages has made it difficult to support their families. They are demanding immediate payment of their outstanding salaries and have vowed to continue their strike until their demands are met.

The strike has completely halted regular garbage collection in various wards of Ghosi Nagar Panchayat, including the Ghosi market. The stench emanating from the garbage piles in many areas has increased the risk of infectious diseases. Local traders report that the prevailing unhygienic conditions are deterring customers, negatively impacting their businesses.

Citizens are urging the Nagar Panchayat administration to restore sanitation services promptly and to resolve the salary issues of the sanitation workers without delay. Residents have warned that if the problem is not addressed soon, the garbage situation could worsen significantly, posing a serious threat to public health.
