Gopalganj District Magistrate Sameer Saurabh has expressed strong displeasure over the delays in the construction of crucial bypass projects in the district. During a review meeting held on Thursday at the Collectorate auditorium, the DM assessed the progress of the Gopalganj and Mirganj bypass projects. He noted that the work was not progressing at the expected pace and was experiencing unnecessary delays at various stages.

DM Saurabh instructed the Deputy Development Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, Deputy Collector Land Reforms, and other concerned departmental officials present at the meeting to expedite the pending procedures. It was informed that the Gopalganj bypass, with a total length of 12.60 kilometers, commenced construction on October 3, 2025, and is slated for completion by April 2, 2027. Land acquisition and forest clearance processes are currently underway for this project.

Meanwhile, the land acquisition process for the Mirganj bypass project is ongoing. A public hearing concerning the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report for this project was scheduled for August 13. The DM strictly directed officials to remove all impediments and ensure the completion of both projects within the stipulated timeframe to benefit the general public.
