Gopalganj District Magistrate Sameer Saurabh has expressed strong displeasure over the delays in the construction of bypasses in the district. During a review meeting of important ongoing projects held in the Collectorate's meeting hall on Thursday, the progress of the Gopalganj and Mirganj bypass construction was specifically discussed. The DM voiced concern over the lack of expected pace in work and delays at various levels, instructing officials to complete the projects on time.

Deputy Development Commissioner Gaurav Kumar, Deputy Collector Land Reforms, along with officials from relevant departments and technical departments, were present at the meeting. During the review, it was informed that the total length of the Gopalganj bypass is 12.60 kilometers. Construction for this project commenced on October 3, 2025, with an estimated completion deadline of April 2, 2027. Land acquisition and forest clearance procedures are also underway for this project. The DM sought information on the status of pending procedures from the concerned officials and directed their swift resolution.

Meanwhile, the land acquisition process for the Mirganj bypass project is ongoing. A public hearing regarding the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report for this project was scheduled for August 13. The DM emphasized the need for all concerned departments to coordinate, accelerate the projects, and complete them within the stipulated timeframe with high quality.
