A significant workshop and block-level farmer training program was organized on Saturday at the e-Kisan Bhawan complex, Uchkagaon Block Headquarters, Gopalganj, under the Rabi Mahaabhiyan. The event was jointly inaugurated by Deputy Project Director Vivek Gupta, Block Agriculture Officer Gaurav Kumar Varun, BSS Amarnath Prasad, and ATMA President Mohan Singh by lighting the lamp.
Addressing the farmers, Deputy Project Director Vivek Gupta highlighted that the state government is implementing various schemes aimed at reducing farmers' input costs, increasing production, and boosting their income. Under these initiatives, farmers are being sent for training at district-level, within the state, and to other states to learn new scientific techniques, enabling them to achieve better production and higher income with lower costs.
Block Agriculture Officer Gaurav Kumar Varun provided detailed information about various government agricultural schemes. He specifically advised farmers to use the Bihar Krishi App, through which they can apply for schemes related to pulse and oilseed crops, among others, and avail subsidies based on their eligibility. He also mentioned that subsidized wheat seeds would not be available this time, but farmers could form groups to obtain wheat seeds at a lower price from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sipaya.
During the training program, agricultural department personnel provided information on schemes such as micro-irrigation, agricultural mechanization, mushroom production, mustard, sunflower, maize, vermicompost, pulse crops, and horticulture. Farmers were encouraged to benefit from these schemes and adopt modern agricultural techniques. The event saw the presence of scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Naveen Kumar, BHO Sonal Singh, Accountant Chandan Dubey, along with other agricultural department staff and a large number of farmers.
