A youth returning from idol immersion in Gopalganj was abducted and severely beaten by miscreants. The incident occurred late Wednesday night near the Phulwari of Chhotka Hathua Baghi village, under Hathua police station. The injured youth has been identified as 25-year-old Neeraj Yadav, a resident of Attwa Durg village, also under Hathua police station.

According to Neeraj, he was returning home after idol immersion when six miscreants on three motorcycles forcibly abducted him. He was then taken to a secluded garden (phulwari) where dozens of other criminals were present. Neeraj stated that the accused were pressuring him to resume selling liquor. Neeraj had previously left this work and gone abroad, but the criminals were again trying to coerce him. Upon his refusal, they brutally beat him and fled, leaving him unconscious.

When Neeraj did not return home late at night, his family began searching for him. They found him in an unconscious state and immediately informed the police. Neeraj was admitted to the Sadar Hospital in critical condition and has since been referred to Gorakhpur for better treatment.

Neeraj also revealed that his parents were beaten on October 2nd for refusing to sell liquor. The police are investigating the involvement of the named accused in this entire case and are conducting continuous raids for their arrest. The incident has caused a stir in the area, and the victim's family is in great distress.
