A cleanliness drive is underway in the Hariharganj Nagar Panchayat area, with the Nagar Panchayat emphasizing efforts to make the region clean and beautiful. Ironically, a large pile of garbage has accumulated right next to the Nagar Panchayat office premises. This dumping of waste near the office is causing significant inconvenience to local residents and those visiting the office. The foul odor emanating from the garbage makes it difficult to stand nearby, raising concerns about potential health hazards.

Rajeev Ranjan, District Vice President of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), expressed strong dissatisfaction with the situation. He questioned how the vision of a cleanliness campaign could be realized when the city's waste is being dumped right next to the Nagar Panchayat office. Ranjan stated that the government is spending crores of rupees on cleanliness, but its desired impact is not visible at the ground level. The accumulation of garbage near the Nagar Panchayat office itself raises serious questions about the entire system.

Rajeev Ranjan demanded that the city administration select an appropriate site away from densely populated areas, rivers, and drains to establish a permanent garbage dumping ground. He emphasized that proper waste management would ensure a clean city and provide relief to the general public. In response, Faizur Rahman Ansari, Executive Officer of the Nagar Panchayat, stated that the process of acquiring land for waste dumping is underway and the problem will be resolved soon.
