The Haryana Special Task Force (STF) has achieved a significant breakthrough in an opium smuggling case, arresting three individuals suspected of being part of a larger network. The arrests were made as part of an operation aimed at dismantling the illicit trade of opium from Bihar into Haryana and surrounding regions. According to sources, the STF received intelligence about individuals involved in transporting opium from Bihar for sale in Haryana.

Acting on this tip-off, the STF initiated surveillance and subsequently apprehended three suspects. A substantial quantity of opium was recovered from their possession. It is believed that the seized opium originated from Naxal-affected areas of Bihar, where illegal cultivation is prevalent. The smugglers allegedly transported the opium in small packets, distributing it to local dealers in Haryana. Authorities suspect that more individuals are involved in this extensive network, and further investigations are underway.

Interrogations of the arrested individuals have yielded crucial leads, assisting the STF in understanding the intricacies of this illegal operation. The STF believes that this syndicate might have connections with larger international drug traffickers.
