Hilsa Excise Police, acting on a tip-off, raided a fertilizer warehouse in Narsanda village, under the Chandi police station area, on Monday, uncovering an illegal liquor trade. During the raid, 55 cartons of various brands of liquor, estimated to be worth over 8 lakh rupees, were seized from a fertilizer warehouse named 'Sajna Krishi Kendra'.

The police arrested Naveen Singh, a peddler, from the spot. During interrogation, Singh revealed that the fertilizer shop's license was in the name of Kaushal Bind. He also confessed that a liquor mafia from Harnaut had offered him 20,000 rupees to store the illicit liquor in the warehouse.

Hilsa Excise Station House Officer Dharmendra Kumar stated that the operation was launched based on confidential information about illegal liquor sales at the 'Sajna Krishi Kendra' fertilizer warehouse located along the road leading to Narsanda village. The liquor consignment was found hidden inside a steel and glass cabin within the warehouse. Further investigations are underway based on the information provided by the arrested individual to apprehend other people involved in this illicit trade. The raid has caused a stir among illegal liquor traders in the region.
