The Idrisia Darji Federation has announced the formation of its district unit in Bihar. On this occasion, the organization has strongly urged the state government to establish a welfare board dedicated to the upliftment of the Darji (tailor) community. Federation officials and members emphasized that the Darji community is economically and socially backward and is not receiving adequate benefits from government schemes.

The newly formed district unit members highlighted that while the Darji community has traditionally been involved in tailoring and embroidery, they face numerous challenges in modern times. Rising inflation, increased raw material costs, and mechanized production are impacting the livelihoods of small tailor artisans. The Federation believes that the formation of a welfare board would provide financial assistance, training, and skill development opportunities to community members, enabling them to become self-reliant.

During the meeting, senior leaders of the Federation stated that a welfare board could implement schemes for education, health, and scholarships for children of the Darji community. They appealed to the government to seriously consider this demand and establish the welfare board as soon as possible to bring this important section of society into the mainstream. The Federation also announced plans for a statewide campaign and the formation of units in all districts to amplify their voice effectively.
