A general meeting of the Panchayat Samiti was held on Thursday in the Islampur Block Office auditorium in Nalanda district. Chaired by the Islampur Block Chief, the primary objective of this meeting was to review the progress of ongoing development schemes in the block area and to make important decisions on issues related to public interest. Panchayat Samiti members, along with officials from various departments and public representatives, were present.

The meeting commenced with the confirmation of previous proceedings. Subsequently, a thorough review of schemes and works operated by different departments was conducted. Panchayat representatives prominently raised problems related to their respective areas and demanded their immediate resolution from the concerned officials. During the meeting, detailed discussions were also held on the selection of schemes related to the 16th Finance Commission and the Fifth State Finance Commission. The committee emphasized prioritizing essential development works in the Panchayat Samiti area and ensuring optimal utilization of available funds for public welfare.

With the permission of the Chairperson, other important topics were also discussed, including special instructions to ensure the active participation of women public representatives. Officials were directed to submit compliance reports of decisions taken in previous meetings and to complete all pending works expeditiously. Information on the current status of schemes was sought from officials of various departments, including health, education, agriculture, animal husbandry, MNREGA, rural works, housing, electricity, irrigation, supply, Jeevika, child development, and welfare. Public representatives stressed the need to accelerate development works and resolve problems in rural areas on a priority basis.
