JEHANABAD: A horrific incident has come to light in Imadpur village, under Parsa Bigha police station in Jehanabad district, Bihar, on Wednesday, shaking the entire community. According to reports, a young man brutally murdered his sister-in-law in broad daylight, allegedly due to a delay in serving food. The accused reportedly attacked his sister-in-law, Anshu Devi (approximately 25 years old), with a sharp axe, severing her head from her body, and then hung the severed head on a banyan tree outside the village. The gruesome act has created an atmosphere of terror and mourning throughout the village.

Villagers stated that Anshu Devi was alone at home at the time of the incident, while other family members had gone to the fields for paddy transplantation. During this time, her younger brother-in-law, Kunal Kumar, returned home from the fields and asked for food. It is alleged that Kunal became enraged when there was a slight delay in serving the meal. He then attacked Anshu Devi with a sharp axe used for cutting grass, striking her neck and instantly decapitating her.

After committing the murder, the accused, Kunal Kumar, hung the severed head on a banyan tree located outside the village and sat near the body. Witnessing the head hanging from the tree, villagers screamed and immediately informed the police. Upon receiving the information, Parsa Bigha police station personnel arrived at the scene. The police took custody of the body and the severed head, sending them for post-mortem examination. The accused, Kunal Kumar, was arrested along with the weapon used in the murder.

Sarva Narayan, SHO of Parsa Bigha Police Station, stated that the case primarily appears to be due to a delay in serving food. Police are interrogating the accused and are conducting a detailed investigation into the actual reasons behind the incident. Prashant, a Panchayat committee member, also mentioned that there are reports of the accused consuming dry narcotics. An FSL team has also arrived at the crime scene.
