A tragic incident has been reported from Jehanabad district, where two farmers died due to electrocution while working in their field. The incident occurred near Dariyapur village, under the Hulasganj OP (Outpost) police station area of the district. The deceased have been identified as Santosh Paswan (55) and Ramji Paswan (60), both residents of Dariyapur village.

According to information, Santosh Paswan and Ramji Paswan were working in their field when they suddenly came into contact with a live electrical wire. It is reported that the electricity wires passing over the field were very old and dilapidated, hanging low. While working, both farmers came into contact with these wires and suffered a severe electric shock. Other people present at the scene immediately tried to rescue them, but it was too late. Both died on the spot.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Hulasganj OP police reached the spot. The police took possession of both bodies and sent them to Jehanabad Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. A pall of gloom has descended upon the village since the incident. Local residents are deeply angered by the electricity department. Villagers allege that the accident occurred due to the negligence of the electricity department. They stated that complaints about replacing and repairing the dilapidated wires had been made multiple times, but the department paid no attention. Had these old wires been fixed in time, perhaps this tragic accident would not have happened today. The police are investigating the matter and further action is being taken. This incident has once again highlighted the problem of dilapidated electrical wires in rural areas and the dangers they pose.
