The body of 28-year-old Mukesh Kumar was found in a canal in Khas Khori village, under Bishunganj police station area in Jehanabad. His family alleges it was a murder stemming from a property dispute and staged a protest. The family claims Mukesh was poisoned and then thrown into the water. Mukesh's family, who reside in Delhi, had come to the village to attend a funeral ceremony for his brother-in-law.

According to the family, after the funeral rites were completed, some villagers took Mukesh away on a motorcycle. Later, his body was discovered in the canal. The family asserts that Mukesh's brother-in-law had no children, and Mukesh had a rightful claim to his property. They allege that the accused murdered Mukesh and dumped his body in the canal to usurp this property.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem examination to Sadar Hospital Jehanabad. The Bishunganj Station House Officer (SHO) stated that initial information suggests Mukesh died by drowning, but the family has accused foul play. The police are investigating the matter, and the exact cause of death will be clearer after the post-mortem report. The SHO mentioned that a written complaint from the deceased's family has not yet been submitted. Further action will be taken once the application is received.

Enraged by the incident, the family members blocked the Gaya-Patna road near the hospital with Mukesh's body, demanding the arrest and action against the culprits. Police from Nagar police station arrived and persuaded the crowd to clear the road. The road remained blocked for about half an hour, disrupting traffic.
