घटना मंगलवार शाम की है जब कई उपभोक्ता पेट्रोल भरवाने के लिए पंप पर पहुंचे। एक ग्राहक ने बताया कि उसने अपनी मोटरसाइकिल में 500 रुपये का पेट्रोल डलवाया, लेकिन मीटर पर रीडिंग देखने के बाद उसे संदेह हुआ कि पेट्रोल कम दिया गया है। जब उसने अन्य ग्राहकों से बात की, तो कई अन्य लोगों ने भी इसी तरह की शिकायत की। ग्राहकों ने आरोप लगाया कि पंपकर्मी जानबूझकर कम पेट्रोल दे रहे हैं और ग्राहकों को ठग रहे हैं।
विरोध प्रदर्शन के दौरान, ग्राहकों ने पंप कर्मियों से स्पष्टीकरण मांगा और मैनेजर को बुलाने की मांग की। उनका कहना था कि यह पहली बार नहीं है जब ऐसी शिकायत सामने आई है। पहले भी इस पंप पर कम पेट्रोल देने की शिकायतें मिलती रही हैं, लेकिन कोई ठोस कार्रवाई नहीं होने के कारण यह समस्या लगातार बनी हुई है। ग्राहकों ने प्रशासन से इस मामले में हस्तक्षेप करने और पेट्रोल पंप की जांच कराने की अपील की है ताकि भविष्य में इस तरह की धोखाधड़ी को रोका जा सके। उन्होंने चेतावनी दी कि यदि जल्द ही इस पर ध्यान नहीं दिया गया, तो वे बड़े पैमाने पर आंदोलन करेंगे।
इस घटना से स्थानीय लोगों में काफी रोष है। उपभोक्ताओं का कहना है कि महंगाई के इस दौर में पेट्रोल जैसी आवश्यक वस्तु में भी इस तरह की धांधली बर्दाश्त नहीं की जा सकती। उन्होंने जिला प्रशासन से मांग की है कि ऐसे पेट्रोल पंपों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाए और यह सुनिश्चित किया जाए कि ग्राहकों को उनके पैसे का पूरा और सही माप मिले।

They warned of larger protests if their concerns were not promptly addressed, highlighting the widespread anger among locals regarding such malpractices, especially concerning essential commodities like petrol.
