A tragic road accident in Kaimur district resulted in the death of a woman riding a motorcycle, while her husband sustained serious injuries. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning near Bahuara village on the Bhabua-Mohania main road. The deceased woman has been identified as 25-year-old Puja Devi, a resident of Chhotka Dhakaich village under Krishnabrahm police station in Buxar district. Her husband, 30-year-old Ranjit Kumar, was critically injured and admitted to Bhabua Sadar Hospital for treatment.

According to available information, Ranjit Kumar was traveling with his wife, Puja Devi, on a motorcycle. As they reached Bahuara village, a speeding pickup van collided with their bike. The impact was so severe that both husband and wife fell onto the road. With the help of local residents, both were rushed to Bhabua Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared Puja Devi dead. Ranjit Kumar's condition remains critical, and he is currently undergoing treatment.

Upon receiving information about the incident, the police arrived at the scene, took the body into custody, and sent it for post-mortem examination at Bhabua Sadar Hospital. The police also seized the pickup van, although its driver managed to flee the scene. The police are searching for the absconding driver, and further investigation into the matter is ongoing. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the family and the entire village.
