Patients at Kaimur's Sadar Hospital will now have access to 64 types of diagnostic tests, including thyroid, completely free of charge. An advanced pathology center is being established on the third floor of the hospital under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. This initiative aims to free patients from the burden of expensive private pathology centers.

Operated by 'Science House Medical Private Limited', the new center will offer a wide range of tests. Currently, six technicians—Rakesh Kumar, Upendra Nath, Ashish Nath Dubey, Khushboo Ranjan, Gautam Kumar, and Sushil Kumar—are engaged in testing patient samples and operating the machines. The facility will provide crucial tests such as CBC for blood count, LFT, KFT, lipid profile, HbA1c, and thyroid profile (T3, T4, TSH) using CBC machines and biochemistry analyzers.

Civil Surgeon Dr. Chandeshwari Rajak stated that the center will be fully operational for patients as soon as the final order is received from the health department. Previously, thyroid tests cost patients between Rs 1500 and Rs 2000 at private centers, with a waiting period of two to three days for reports as samples were sent to Patna or Varanasi. Now, these tests will be free and reports will be delivered quickly. The facility will also extend its services beyond the district hospital, collecting samples from sub-divisional, referral, and primary health centers for testing at this new center.
