On Monday, bulldozers were deployed in Manihari, Katihar district, to demolish illegal shops near the Nagar Panchayat office. This action was carried out under the orders of the High Court, resulting in the demolition of approximately 17 illegal structures built on the national highway, thereby removing encroachment.

The operation was led by Sub-Divisional Officer Triloki Nath Singh. A significant police force and magistrates were present during the demolition drive. Additional police personnel were called in from the district headquarters to ensure security. SDPO Vinod Kumar, SHO Santosh Kumar Jha, Circle Inspector Pappu Kumar, BDO Sanat Kumar, and Revenue Officer Ramsagar Paswan, among other officials, were present at the scene.

Some shopkeepers requested more time from the administration, but the action continued in strict compliance with the court's directives. Many local residents gathered at the site, with some observed recording videos of the event. The administration clarified that this action was taken in accordance with the High Court's order to free public land from encroachment.
