Residents of Khadiya Pipra, under Sultanganj block in Bhagalpur district, have indefinitely blocked National Highway 80 (NH-80) to protest the lack of a proper diversion on the Sultanganj four-lane project. The villagers claim that during the ongoing four-lane construction, no adequate alternative route or diversion has been provided, causing significant inconvenience for daily commute.

Protesters highlighted that the absence of a proper traffic arrangement in the Khadiya Pipra area is severely impacting local residents, including farmers, small traders, and schoolchildren, who are forced to travel long distances. Emergency services are also facing difficulties. The primary demand of the villagers is the construction of a permanent diversion near Khadiya Pipra on the Sultanganj four-lane to facilitate smoother movement.

The blockade has led to long queues of vehicles on NH-80, causing substantial trouble for commuters. Local administration and police have arrived at the scene and are attempting to negotiate with the protesters to clear the road. However, the villagers are adamant about not lifting the blockade until their demands are met, stating that their concerns have been ignored despite repeated communication with the authorities. This indefinite protest has severely disrupted traffic flow in Bhagalpur and surrounding areas.
