Due to the rising water level of the Burhi Gandak river, several low-lying areas within the Khagaria Nagar Parishad region are experiencing flood-like conditions. Wards 30, 31, 16, 13, 14, 15, 05, and 03 have been particularly affected. In response to this serious situation, the municipal council administration is on high alert and continuously monitoring the affected areas.

In line with these efforts, Municipal Chairperson Archana Kumari, accompanied by the Nagar Parishad team, visited the flood-hit localities. She directly interacted with the flood victims to understand their problems and needs. The Chairperson also assessed the ongoing relief arrangements on the ground. She inspected the community kitchens operated by the government and gathered information about the food provisions, emphasizing the importance of ensuring timely, sufficient, and hygienic food for the affected population. Cleanliness and other essential arrangements at the kitchens were also checked. Furthermore, she reviewed the relief materials and other facilities available for the affected families.

Under the leadership of the Executive Officer, the Nagar Parishad team is regularly touring the affected areas, closely monitoring water levels, waterlogging, public movement, and the status of relief operations. The Municipal Chairperson assured that the Nagar Parishad stands firmly with the affected people during this time of disaster. She stated that basic facilities such as food, drinking water, health services, and safe passage would not be compromised. The Chairperson urged residents to avoid unnecessary movement in waterlogged areas and to keep children away from deep water and strong currents. She also advised people to immediately inform the Nagar Parishad administration of any needs so that all possible assistance can be provided through available resources.
