In Khodawandpur block of Begusarai district, the agriculture department has set an ambitious target for paddy cultivation this Kharif season. A total of 1250 hectares of land has been targeted for paddy cultivation, and panchayat-wise plans are being prepared to achieve this. Agriculture department officials stated that farmers would be provided with improved varieties of seeds, fertilizers, and technical assistance to achieve this goal.

The Khodawandpur Block Agriculture Officer informed that different targets have been set for various panchayats. These include 250 hectares in Bariarpur Purvi, 225 hectares in Khodawandpur, 200 hectares in Fafaut, 175 hectares in Daulatpur, 150 hectares in Meghauli, 125 hectares in Taraadda, and 125 hectares in Bajitpur panchayats. The agriculture department will work closely with farmers to meet these targets.

The department also mentioned that farmers are being educated on field preparation, timely sowing, and ensuring proper irrigation before paddy cultivation. Additionally, necessary information and assistance will be provided for pest and disease control. Officials expressed hope that with a good monsoon and farmer cooperation this year, the target would be successfully achieved, leading to increased agricultural production and improved farmer income in the region. This initiative will contribute to food security and strengthen the local economy.
