In Bara village of Khodawandpur block, Begusarai district, a dispute over an outstanding debt of Rs 5000 escalated into a violent confrontation, leaving a devar (husband's younger brother) and bhabhi (elder brother's wife) seriously injured. The incident involved two parties and resulted in a physical altercation.

According to reports, a long-standing dispute over a Rs 5000 transaction existed between Ravindra Mahto, son of Ramnaresh Mahto, and Rajgir Mahto, both residents of Bara village. On Monday evening, this verbal dispute turned into a violent clash. Ravindra Mahto's family alleges that Rajgir Mahto, along with some associates, attacked them. In the assault, Ravindra Mahto and his bhabhi, Meena Devi, sustained severe injuries.

The injured were immediately taken to the local Community Health Center. After initial treatment, given their critical condition, they were referred to Begusarai Sadar Hospital for advanced medical care. Police sources confirmed that both parties have filed cases against each other at Khodawandpur police station. The police have assured swift action and have initiated an investigation into the matter. A tense atmosphere prevails in the village, with police patrolling to maintain law and order. Villagers have urged the police to resolve such minor disputes promptly and take strict action against the culprits to prevent future recurrences.
