Kishanganj police have achieved a significant success in their ongoing drive against liquor smugglers. On Wednesday morning, during a special checking operation at Mahananda Bridge, a large quantity of foreign liquor was recovered from a car. Police had received a tip-off about a consignment of liquor being transported from West Bengal to Munger, passing through Kishanganj.

Acting on this intelligence, the police intercepted a car bearing registration number BR01PC8280. Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered 169.890 liters of foreign liquor hidden in cleverly constructed secret compartments within the car's trunk and doors. The estimated market value of the seized liquor is between 2.5 to 3 lakh rupees. Police arrested an individual named Anshu Kumar from the spot. During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was transporting the liquor from West Bengal to Munger.

The operation was led by Inspector MD Haider Ali, with the team including Constables Nitish Kumar, Chhotu Kumar, Umesh Ram, Narayan, and Ram Paswan. The police have seized both the liquor and the vehicle used for smuggling. Further legal action under the Excise Act is being initiated against the arrested accused. This swift action by the police has caused a stir among liquor mafias and smugglers in the region.
