Police have busted a major sex trafficking ring operating from a hotel in Kishanganj town, rescuing five victims, including three minor girls aged between 14 and 16 years. Four accused have also been arrested in connection with the raid. The operation was carried out based on a confidential tip-off indicating that an illegal prostitution racket was running in a hotel located in the heart of the city.

Following directions from the Superintendent of Police, a special team was formed which meticulously planned and executed the raid. During the raid, police freed five girls from the hotel rooms. Three of the rescued girls are from West Bengal, while two are reportedly from Nepal. All victims have been sent for medical examination, and their statements are being recorded. Police suspect that these girls were lured or forced into the flesh trade.

The four arrested individuals include the hotel owner, a manager, and two touts (brokers). Police have also recovered objectionable materials, cash, and mobile phones from them. Interrogations are underway to identify other individuals connected to this network. It is suspected that this could be a large interstate gang involved in bringing girls from other states and even neighboring countries into the trade.

Kishanganj police have registered a case under various sections, including human trafficking and the POCSO Act. The Superintendent of Police stated that continuous action would be taken against such illegal activities to curb crime in society and protect innocent individuals. This incident once again highlights the serious challenge of human trafficking and the exploitation of minors in society.
