In a significant move for public health, a new de-addiction center was inaugurated in Lalganj, Muzaffarpur district. District Magistrate (DM) Pranav Kumar presided over the inauguration, emphasizing the collective responsibility to free society from the scourge of addiction. He stated that the center would provide a crucial opportunity for individuals struggling with substance abuse to reintegrate into mainstream society.

During the ceremony, nutritional kits were distributed to tuberculosis (TB) patients. The DM highlighted that this initiative aims to improve the health of TB patients and support their fight against the disease, noting that proper nutrition is vital for effective TB treatment and faster recovery. He urged all officials and health workers to actively contribute to the success of the TB eradication program.

Furthermore, the Lalganj Referral Hospital received an upgrade with the addition of four new beds, enhancing its capacity to provide better healthcare services. The DM encouraged hospital staff to serve patients with sensitivity and dedication, stressing the importance of quality and a human-centric approach in healthcare delivery. This expansion is expected to benefit more patients, particularly in emergency situations.

The event saw the presence of key officials including Civil Surgeon Dr. UC Sharma, SDO West Brijesh Kumar, DTO Shailendra Kumar Bharti, UNICEF DPM Muzaffarpur, Medical Officer In-charge Dr. Rameshwar Kumar, DPM Jeevika, Block Development Officer, Circle Officer, along with other health workers and public representatives.
