A comprehensive survey campaign has been launched in Bihar to identify individuals suffering from leprosy and ensure they receive the benefits of government schemes. This door-to-door campaign aims to identify leprosy patients and integrate them into the mainstream society. According to health department officials, the primary objective of this survey is to identify those affected by leprosy who may not yet have been diagnosed or are not receiving government assistance due to their condition.

The survey teams will visit homes, interact with residents, and provide information about the symptoms of leprosy. If any individual shows symptoms of leprosy, they will be immediately referred to the nearest health center for medical consultation and treatment. Beyond identification, the campaign will also link patients with various government welfare schemes, including pension plans, free treatment, rehabilitation support, and other social security benefits.

Officials stated that the survey commenced on July 13th and will continue in the coming days. This initiative is expected to raise awareness about leprosy and provide affected individuals with an opportunity to live a dignified life. The government's goal is to ensure that no leprosy patient is deprived of treatment and support, marking a significant step towards a leprosy-free Bihar.
