A Shiv temple in Bargawan village, Sirdala block, was damaged on Thursday after it was struck by lightning. The incident occurred around 12 PM when a loud crash accompanied the lightning strike. According to eyewitnesses, the upper part and walls of the temple sustained significant damage. However, the Shivling installed inside the temple remained completely safe, bringing a sense of relief to the villagers.

Three young girls playing near the temple at the time of the incident also experienced minor electric shocks. They were immediately rushed to a local hospital by villagers. After receiving first aid, their condition is reported to be stable and out of danger. Villagers described a loud sound and bright flash when the lightning struck, causing panic in the surrounding area.

Residents of Bargawan stated that the temple was quite old and had never experienced such an event before. The lightning strike caused considerable damage to the temple's stones and bricks. Local administration has been informed, and a request has been made to send a team to assess the damage. Villagers have appealed to the government for assistance in renovating the temple. Such incidents of lightning strikes increase during the monsoon season, and people are advised to avoid open spaces and taking shelter under trees.
