In a significant operation, the Excise Department team in Akhlaspur has arrested a liquor smuggler and seized 69 liters of illicit country-made liquor. The arrest took place while the smuggler was transporting the illegal alcohol in an e-rickshaw. The Excise Department had received confidential information regarding large-scale liquor smuggling activities in the Akhlaspur area. Acting on this tip-off, the team promptly set up a trap in the vicinity.

During the search operation, the team intercepted a suspicious e-rickshaw and conducted an inspection. The inspection led to the recovery of a large quantity of illicit country-made liquor from the e-rickshaw, totaling 69 liters. The liquor smuggler was apprehended on the spot. Excise officials stated that the seized liquor has a considerable market value and was likely intended for distribution during the upcoming festivities.

A case has been registered against the arrested smuggler under the Excise Act, and he has been sent to judicial custody for further legal proceedings. The e-rickshaw used for smuggling has also been confiscated. This action has caused a stir among liquor traffickers.
