The grand Snana Yatra of Lord Jagannath concluded with great fervor on Sunday in Jagdishpur, Champanagari, Bhagalpur. On this auspicious occasion, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra were given a special ceremonial bath. Following the bath, offerings were made to the deities, and they were then moved from the sanctum sanctorum into the 'Anasar Ghar'. This ritual symbolizes the deities' supposed illness, after which their 'divine treatment' commences.

According to the temple management, Lord Jagannath will not grant darshan to devotees for the next 15 days. This period, known as 'Anasar Kaal', is dedicated to the secret treatment of the deities. During this time, they will be bathed with medicinal liquids and anointed with special herbal pastes. It is believed that due to excessive bathing, the deities develop a fever and become unwell, necessitating this unique treatment.

After the Anasar Kaal concludes, Lord Jagannath will appear before his devotees in a rejuvenated form. This period immediately precedes the Rath Yatra. On the day of Rath Yatra, Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra emerge from their sanctum sanctorum to embark on a grand procession through the town aboard magnificent chariots, drawing devotees from far and wide. Preparations for this year's Rath Yatra are in full swing, and its grandeur will only intensify with the end of the Anasar Kaal. This religious event is a significant part of Champanagari's cultural and spiritual heritage.
