Madhepura District Magistrate (DM) Vijay Prakash Meena has expressed deep displeasure over the slow progress of the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana in the district. He clearly stated that any negligence in the implementation of crucial central government schemes would not be tolerated. During a review meeting held on Wednesday, the DM reprimanded the concerned officials and directed them to take concrete steps to accelerate the scheme's progress.

The DM observed during the meeting that the work under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana in the district was not progressing as per the targets. He questioned the officials about the reasons for the delay in advancing this important scheme, which is intended to directly benefit the common public. The DM emphasized that this scheme was launched to provide relief from electricity bills and promote clean energy, and its slow pace is a cause for concern.

Vijay Prakash Meena instructed all relevant departments and agencies to establish mutual coordination and expedite the scheme's implementation. He specifically ordered the electricity department and rural development department to play active roles. The DM stated that special campaigns should be conducted in areas lacking awareness to inform people about the benefits of this scheme. He also stressed simplifying the application process to enable more people to avail its benefits.

The DM warned that if there is no improvement in the scheme's progress in the coming days, strict action would be taken against the concerned officials. He directed officials to achieve targets within a specified timeframe and submit regular progress reports. This stern stance by the DM indicates his commitment to implementing central government welfare schemes on the ground and his intolerance for any negligence.
