A woman died after childbirth at a private hospital in Madhepura district, sparking outrage among her family members. They accused the hospital management and doctors of severe negligence in her treatment. Following the incident, enraged relatives blocked National Highway 106 (NH-106) for four hours with the deceased's body, bringing traffic to a complete standstill.

According to reports, Ritu Devi (28), wife of Deepak Kumar from Gauripur village in Singheshwar block, Madhepura, was admitted to a private hospital in Madhepura after experiencing labor pain. Her family alleges that her condition deteriorated after admission, but doctors failed to provide timely and appropriate treatment. After delivery, her health worsened further, leading to her death within a few hours.

Upon hearing of her death, the family created a ruckus at the hospital, demanding justice and accusing doctors of negligence. Hospital staff reportedly fled the scene as the situation escalated. The agitated family then took the body to NH-106 and blocked the road. The blockade, which lasted from morning until afternoon, caused long queues of vehicles on both sides of the highway, severely inconveniencing commuters.

Local police arrived at the scene and tried to pacify the family, but they remained steadfast in their demands for strict action against the negligent doctors and hospital management, along with adequate compensation. After considerable effort, the police managed to clear the blockade. The body has been sent for post-mortem, and an investigation into the matter has been launched. This incident once again raises questions about the quality and accountability of treatment in private hospitals.
