The Lucknow Police from Uttar Pradesh conducted a raid in Runnisaidpur, Sitamarhi district, and arrested Jitendra Pandit, an accused in a ₹1.5 crore theft case. Jitendra, originally from Sohsarai in Madhubani district, worked as a cook at a businessman's house in Lucknow. He is accused of committing a major theft there, after which he moved to Runnisaidpur and was selling momos from a street cart while living in a rented house.

A First Information Report (FIR) was lodged at Lucknow's Mahanagar police station by the victim, Shalini Mishra, naming both Jitendra and his wife, Vibha Devi. During the operation, UP Police recovered a pair of gold bangles and ₹25,000 in cash from the accused. According to the police, Jitendra's bank accounts, holding approximately ₹60 lakh, have been frozen. The accused admitted during interrogation that he used the stolen money to purchase fixed deposits, jewellery, and land.

Jitendra is currently out on bail in this case. The police had come to Runnisaidpur to search for his wife, Vibha Devi, and the remaining stolen jewellery. Vibha Devi has been taken to Lucknow by the police, and a thorough investigation into the entire theft conspiracy and related assets is ongoing.
