A tragic road accident in Satlakha village, adjacent to Rahika block in Madhubani district, resulted in the death of a one-year-old girl on Friday. The girl's mother sustained serious injuries in the same incident and was referred to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) after receiving initial treatment.

According to reports, two motorcycles collided head-on near Satlakha village. The impact was so severe that the one-year-old girl and her mother, who were riding on one of the bikes, fell onto the road and were critically injured. Onlookers immediately rushed both to the hospital. Doctors, after examination, declared the one-year-old girl dead. The mother's condition remains serious, and she has been transferred to DMCH for advanced treatment.

Upon receiving news of the incident, family members rushed to the hospital, where a pall of grief descended upon them following the child's death. Local residents attribute such frequent accidents to high-speed and negligent driving of motorcycles on the road. Villagers have urged the administration to control vehicle speeds and implement necessary measures to prevent future mishaps. The police have been informed and are investigating the case to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
