Darbhanga: Maithili Thakur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Alinagar assembly constituency in Darbhanga district, met Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary to highlight key issues concerning her constituency. During the meeting, the MLA demanded the establishment of a degree college in Ghanshyampur block and the appointment of doctors in hospitals across Alinagar, Tardih, and Ghanshyampur blocks.

Thakur informed the Chief Minister that due to the absence of a degree college in Ghanshyampur block, students are forced to travel to other districts for higher education. This disrupts the education of economically weaker students and creates safety and commuting challenges for female students. She urged the government to make necessary budgetary provisions for establishing a government degree college in Ghanshyampur.

Regarding healthcare services, the MLA drew the Chief Minister's attention to the vacant posts of doctors, GNM, ANM, staff nurses, dressers, and pharmacists in the Community Health Centers (Ghanshyampur, Tardih) and Additional Primary Health Centers (Kaithwar, Kurso Nadiyami, Putai) within the Alinagar assembly constituency. She stated that due to these vacancies or insufficient staff, the rural population, especially pregnant women, children, and the elderly, are not receiving timely and quality healthcare services. Maithili Thakur demanded immediate appointments of doctors and other medical staff in the hospitals of all three blocks.

When asked about her less-than-usual smile during the meeting, Maithili Thakur explained that she had undergone dental treatment before meeting the Chief Minister and was unable to smile properly due to toothache. She emphasized her commitment to vigorously raising every issue related to the development and public interest of the Alinagar assembly constituency.
