A man drowned while bathing in a pond in Darbhanga. The incident occurred at the RS Tank in Bahadurpur. The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Arvind Mandal, son of Vaidyanath Mandal, a resident of Pauram village in Hayaghat.

According to information, Arvind Mandal went to bathe in the RS Tank in Bahadurpur on Monday afternoon around 2 PM. Eyewitnesses saw him entering the water. However, when he did not emerge for a considerable time, people suspected he might have drowned. A commotion ensued, and a crowd gathered around the pond.

Upon receiving news of the accident, Sub-Inspectors Manjesh Kumar, Raj Kishor Singh, and Chowkidar Manish Kumar Paswan arrived at the scene. With the help of local fishermen, the body was recovered from the water after approximately two hours of effort, but by then, Arvind Mandal had already passed away. Station House Officer Prasunjay Kumar stated that the body was handed over to the family after post-mortem examination at DMCH. No application has been received from the family yet, and the police are investigating the matter at their level.
