A violent clash erupted on Friday in Rewan village, Masaurhi block, Patna district, between an excise department team and Rail Police jawan Indrajeet Kumar during a prohibition raid. Both parties have filed First Information Reports (FIRs) against each other at Nadoul OP, and the police have initiated an investigation.

According to available information, an excise department team, led by SI Saurabh Kumar, arrived in Rewan village to conduct a raid related to prohibition. A dispute arose between Rail Police jawan Indrajeet Kumar and SI Saurabh Kumar, which quickly escalated into a physical altercation. Villagers gathered at the scene following the clash.

In his complaint, Indrajeet Kumar alleged that the excise team detained him, put him in a vehicle, and severely beat him near Pothi. He claimed that despite repeatedly informing the officers that he is a cancer patient, they continued to assault him with his hands and feet tied behind his back.

Conversely, SI Saurabh Kumar has accused Indrajeet Kumar of obstructing official duty and assaulting him. Nadoul OP in-charge Roshan Kumar stated that the police are thoroughly investigating the allegations from both sides. The true nature of the incident will become clear only after the investigation is complete.

On Saturday, residents of Rewan village protested against the excise department's actions, expressing strong dissatisfaction over the alleged beating of the Rail Police jawan and demanding the immediate suspension of SI Saurabh Kumar.
