Even a light spell of rain has disrupted daily life in the Mehinagar and Krishnapuri areas. Roads quickly transformed into waterlogged ponds, causing significant inconvenience to local residents. The lack of proper drainage systems in these regions has made this an annual problem.

Locals report that there is an absence of adequate drains, and existing ones are often choked with silt and garbage, preventing water runoff. This accumulation of water on roads creates difficulties for both pedestrians and motorists. In many spots, the water level becomes so high that even small vehicles break down.

The persistent waterlogging also poses a health risk. Stagnant, dirty water becomes a breeding ground for mosquitoes, increasing the potential for diseases like dengue, malaria, and chikungunya. Despite numerous complaints to the local administration, a permanent solution to this issue has yet to be found.

Residents are urging the administration to swiftly improve drainage infrastructure, clean existing drains, and construct new ones. They warn that if the problem is not addressed promptly, the situation could worsen significantly with more rainfall in the coming days. There is considerable public anger over the unresolved issue.
