The Integrated Child Development Project (ICDS) office in Mohania, Kaimur district, is operating out of a severely dilapidated building. Employees are facing significant challenges due to the crumbling plaster from the roof and water leakage during the rainy season. The condition of the office's roof and walls is extremely poor, with plaster frequently breaking off and falling, posing a safety risk to the staff.

The problem intensifies during monsoon, as water leaks from the roof, accumulating inside the office. This makes it difficult to protect important documents and other office equipment. Female staff members, Pratima Kumari and Kunta Devi, stated that the dire state of the building has been reported to higher authorities multiple times. The Block Development Officer (BDO) also inspected the office, but no permanent solution has been found yet.

In-charge CDPO Priya Kumari confirmed on Wednesday that the department acknowledges the building's poor condition. Several correspondences have been made at the departmental level, and the District Magistrate has also been informed. She assured that as soon as an alternative arrangement is made, the office will be shifted to a safer location. Currently, employees are forced to work in the unsafe building. There is a strong demand from the administration to arrange a secure building as soon as possible to prevent any untoward incidents.
