Dr. Mohammad Javed, Member of Parliament from Kishanganj, has submitted a letter to the Governor, advocating strongly for the expansion of higher education facilities in the district. In his letter, MP Javed requested the establishment of a B.Ed and Law College in Kishanganj to prevent local students from having to leave the area for higher studies. Additionally, the MP has also urged for the creation of a degree college in the Pothia block.

MP Javed highlighted that Kishanganj is a border district with a significant shortage of higher education institutions. He pointed out that students pursuing B.Ed and Law degrees are currently forced to travel to other districts or neighboring states, leading to both financial and social hardships. The establishment of local B.Ed and Law colleges would not only save students time and money but also provide them with access to quality education within their home district.

Emphasizing the need for a degree college in Pothia block, the MP stated that Pothia is one of the largest blocks in the district, with a large number of students completing intermediate education. The absence of a degree college compels these students to travel to distant areas for further studies, which is particularly challenging for female students from rural backgrounds. A degree college in Pothia would facilitate easier access to higher education for rural students and improve the overall standard of education.

The MP has urged the Governor to take personal interest in this matter and issue necessary directives to the concerned departments to ensure the swift establishment of these crucial educational institutions. He expressed confidence that the Governor's intervention would bring about a positive transformation in the higher education landscape of Kishanganj district.
