Munger district has reported two separate incidents of brutal assault within the last twenty-four hours. In both cases, youths were severely beaten by assailants due to old rivalries and personal disputes. Both injured individuals have been admitted to Sadar Hospital in serious condition by their families, where they are currently receiving treatment. Police have stated that further legal action will be taken once written complaints are received in both matters.

The first incident occurred in the Kanhaiya Chak Patam area under the Naya Ramnagar police station. Pawan Kumar, son of Ravindra Yadav and a resident of Kanhaiyachak Patam village, was targeted due to an old enmity. The victim, Pawan Kumar, alleged that he was returning home after attending a fair in Baraichak Patam on Thursday night. During this, Jaikaran Bind, a resident of Bind Toli village, along with his son and other unknown associates, who were already lying in wait, surrounded him on the road. When he resisted, the accused attacked him relentlessly with sticks and iron rods, leaving him severely injured. The attackers fled, leaving him for dead by the roadside. His family, upon learning of the incident, rushed him to Sadar Hospital. Naya Ramnagar SHO Ravindra Kumar Verma confirmed that information about the incident has been received, but no written application has been filed yet. He assured that an FIR would be registered and strict action taken against the culprits once an application is received.

The second incident took place near Town Hall, under the Kotwali police station area of Munger city. Govinda Kumar, 35, a resident of Lal Darwaza, was surrounded and brutally assaulted near Town Hall, a busy area of the city, due to an old dispute. According to the victim, Roshan Kumar, a resident of Mirchi Talab, along with some associates, suddenly surrounded Govinda Kumar and began mercilessly beating him in the middle of the road. Govinda sustained serious injuries and collapsed to the ground. With the help of locals and family members, he was immediately admitted to the emergency ward of Sadar Hospital. Kotwali SHO Rajiv Tiwari stated that the police are investigating the matter. However, no official written application has been received by the police station from the victim or his family yet. Police have assured swift raids and strict action against the named accused once an application is filed.
