Police have raided an illegal country liquor distillery in Chandpur village, Gaighat block, Muzaffarpur district. During the raid, 18 liters of finished country liquor were seized, and one peddler, identified as Vijay Singh from the village, was arrested. He was sent to judicial custody on Monday.

Beniabad Station House Officer Dhirendra Kumar Singh stated that the police received confidential information alleging that Vijay Singh was secretly manufacturing liquor in a shed behind his house. After verifying the information, a police team surrounded the house and conducted a raid.

Police also seized five LPG cylinders, a stove, and other related materials used in the illicit liquor production. Hundreds of liters of semi-finished liquor found at the site were destroyed. The SHO confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered under the Prohibition Act. Further investigation is underway to identify other individuals involved in this illegal liquor trade and to dismantle the entire network.
