Muzaffarpur: The admission process for postgraduate (PG) session 2026-28 at BRA Bihar University (BRABU) has not yet commenced, primarily due to the non-declaration of results for the fifth and sixth semesters of undergraduate studies. Students are left waiting for PG admissions, even as the designated admission period is slipping away.

The university's situation is surprising, as it conducted the sixth-semester examinations without releasing the results for the fifth semester. Now, the fifth-semester results must be declared first, followed by the sixth-semester results. This delay has stalled PG admissions for students who passed the sixth semester of the 2023-27 undergraduate session. This will be the last batch of the two-year PG program, but students are still awaiting the outcomes of two semesters.

DSW Dr. Alok Pratap Singh stated that PG admissions would be conducted through the 'Samarth Portal.' For this, all colleges and PG departments offering postgraduate studies are being mapped to the portal. He expressed hope that the admission process would begin next week. The names of college PG departments, university PG departments, and section seats will be uploaded to the Samarth Portal, a process expected to take about 10 days. However, if results are not released even in November, admissions will not be possible despite the portal opening. According to the university's schedule, PG admissions should have been completed by July-August.

Several colleges have also applied to open PG centers. Dr. Singh mentioned that these colleges would be inspected, and decisions would be made only for those that meet the prescribed resources and standards.
