A shocking incident has emerged from Muzaffarpur district, where an elder brother brutally beat his younger brother to death over a mere sum of ₹2,000. The incident occurred in Bhatoulia village, under the Saraiya police station area of the district. The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Ranjan Kumar, while the accused elder brother, 28-year-old Santosh Kumar, has been arrested by the police following the incident.

According to initial reports, Ranjan Kumar had borrowed ₹2,000 from his elder brother Santosh. Santosh had been persistently pressuring Ranjan to return the money, leading to frequent arguments between the two brothers. On Wednesday night, a dispute over this same issue escalated into a violent confrontation. In a fit of rage, Santosh began to mercilessly beat Ranjan with kicks and punches until he lost consciousness.

Family members and neighbors rushed Ranjan, who was in critical condition, to a local hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Upon receiving information about the incident, Saraiya police reached the scene, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. The police acted swiftly and arrested the accused, Santosh Kumar, who has confessed to his crime during interrogation.

The deceased, Ranjan Kumar, had been married approximately four years ago and leaves behind two young children. The entire village is engulfed in grief and shock, with family members inconsolable. The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter and further legal proceedings are underway.
