The body of a middle-aged man was discovered under the Akhadaghat bridge on the Burhi Gandak River within the Ahiyapur police station area of Muzaffarpur. Local residents gathered on Sunday morning after spotting the body near the riverbank. According to local villager Arjun Kumar, some people saw a body floating in the water under the Akhadaghat bridge in the morning. Villagers then retrieved the body from the water and immediately informed the emergency service number 112. Upon receiving the information, a police team from Ahiyapur station quickly arrived at the scene.

Following the discovery, suspicions of both murder and suicide have emerged in the area. Villagers suggest that it either appears to be a case where someone murdered the individual and dumped the body in the river, or the person committed suicide by jumping from the bridge. Police are investigating all angles. Given the seriousness of the matter, the police promptly called the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to the site. Forensic experts collected crucial evidence from the scene. Subsequently, the police took possession of the body and sent it to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH) for post-mortem.

Muzaffarpur City SP Mohibullah Ansari officially confirmed the incident, stating that an unidentified middle-aged man's body was recovered from the Burhi Gandak River in the Ahiyapur police station area. He mentioned that upon receiving the information, the police team responded immediately and inspected the crime scene. Forensic investigation was also conducted for scientific analysis. The City SP added that efforts are underway to identify the deceased, and the exact cause and reasons for death will only be revealed after the post-mortem report is available. Police are diligently investigating the case from all perspectives.
