A Panchayat Employment Seva (PRS) official, Krishnandan Paswan, is facing dismissal in Muzaffarpur for allegedly falsifying documents to mutate 70 decimal ancestral land belonging to a retired IAS officer. Paswan, previously stationed in Bochaha, has been absent from duty without notice for the past six months.

The departmental action comes after reports of police action against him in land fraud cases surfaced in social and print media. The department has requested detailed information from the police regarding the FIRs filed, his arrest, and other related actions to proceed with disciplinary measures, which could include termination of service.

DDC Nishant Sihare has written to SDPO Nagar-2 Deepak Kumar, seeking a comprehensive report on the cases against Paswan and the police's actions. MNREGA DPO Amit Kumar confirmed that dismissal proceedings would be initiated as soon as the police report is received.

Police investigations revealed that fraudulent documents were created based on old land deeds from 1980-1986 to facilitate land mutation through the Mushahari circle office. An FIR was lodged on August 29 following a complaint by Vijay Kumar at Ahiyapur police station. In connection with this case, the then Mushahari CO Mahendra Shukla and RO Karun Karan were previously arrested and are now out on bail and suspended.

Paswan's network of fraud reportedly spans from Muzaffarpur to Vaishali. He would allegedly first mutate land falsely in his name and then sell it to influential individuals through fraudulent deeds, accumulating millions of rupees. Most of these fraudulent mutations were carried out in December 2025 and January 2026.
