A family in Muzaffarpur faced a deadly assault where a young man was severely injured with a brick, and assailants attempted to set him on fire using petrol. The incident occurred late at night in Gopinathpur village, located on Rewa Road within the Saraiya police station area of the district. The attackers reportedly broke into the house and assaulted the youth and his family.

According to reports, Vijay Sahni, son of Ramnath Sahni, a resident of Gopinathpur village, was attacked inside his home by miscreants who hit him with a brick. Following this, the assailants poured petrol on him and tried to ignite it. However, other family members intervened, saving him from being burnt. During the attack, other family members were also subjected to physical assault. The victim's family has since filed a complaint at the Saraiya police station.

The police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. It is believed that the attack stemmed from an old dispute. The victim's family informed the police that the accused harbored resentment due to a previous altercation, which led to this late-night incident. Police are currently conducting raids to apprehend the accused. Injured Vijay Sahni has been admitted to a local hospital for treatment. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear in the area.
