A tragic incident unfolded on Tuesday in Muzaffarpur district, where three children drowned in the NTPC Dam located in the Kanti police station area. The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the entire region. The deceased have been identified by local villagers as two boys and one girl. It is reported that the three children were playing near the dam and likely ventured into deep water while attempting to bathe.

Eyewitnesses stated that upon seeing the children drowning, nearby residents raised an alarm and attempted to rescue them, but it was too late. Upon receiving the information, a large number of local villagers gathered at the scene. Villagers immediately tried to pull the children out of the water and prepared to take them to the hospital, but unfortunately, all three had already succumbed.

Kanti police station personnel arrived at the scene after being informed of the incident. Police have taken the bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem examination. Police officials stated that the matter is under investigation, and the children's families have been notified. The families are in deep distress.
